Good morning bread friends!
I hope your week is going well. Today is going to be a short letterβ¦ and Iβm welcoming email replies.
First, I want to thank you all for the all the responses to last weekβs survey about English muffins. I was deeply encouraged by peopleβs interest in English muffins, and how many of you chose to reply. If you didnβt get a chance to fill out the survey last week, I still welcome your feedback here π It should take less than 90 seconds to fill out. Please donβt do the survey a second time if you already filled it out last week ;)
Honest question for you: What is one thing that has encouraged you this week?
I ask that because there is a lot of bad stuff happening in our country lately. A lot of blatantly intentional harm being done by this administration. And while Iβm inclined to outline the disgraceful injustice of our government disappearing humans, ignoring judgesβ rulings, destabilizing our economy, defunding critical health research, and shilling self-dealing crypto coinsβ¦ their strategy of blitz and overwhelm is kind of working. Because that list of injustices is all from the past ~week, and it is hardly long enough to cover all the harm that deserves to be acknowledged.
And while it is important to not grow weary of doing what is right and calling out what is wrong⦠I believe it is also important to not let the horrors of the world crowd out your ability to be hopeful.
And thusβ¦. my ask to you this morning is simply - what is one thing that has encouraged you lately?
Doesnβt need to be on the national or global scale. Maybe it was something you saw at a small business, or a something you did with your kids, a thought that came to you while reading a book, or perhaps something that you reflected on during prayer.
One thing that encouraged me this week (besides the feedback from you all about wanting English muffins) was my daughterβs request that we make focaccia again for the family. And especially her offer to help make it.
I canβt wait to do that together this weekend!
Cheers,
Mo
P.S. I donβt know about you all, but it seemed to me that last weeksβ loaves turned out extra great! Here is a picture :)
P.P.S. Reminder that this is the last bread order for the month of April, and all of our profits this month are going towards The Beacon.
