Good morning Bread Friends!
Iβm trying something new today. βπ½I included a button at the top here for you to go straight to ordering bread if youβd like to hurry up and do that before finishing reading the full newsletter. Let me know if that is helpful for you.
Anyway.. I hope your day is starting off well this morning.
Has anyone reminded you already that weβre less than 1 week away from Election Day? π
This time 4 years ago is when I started this newsletter. I had been baking for most of the year already, and decided to start sharing publicly some of the things that I had been writing about in my journal. Up until that point my writing was just a way to try to process the anxious and unsettled feelings that I felt living through the 4th year of Donald Trumpβs presidency.
Iβve been an adult with awareness of who the President is for over 20 years. Those 4 years were the only four years in my consciousness when I felt like the American people had to think about what the President of the United States was up to just about every single day.
You may have forgotten, but the psychic load that we all carried during those four years was immense.
I for one am not at all interested in going back to those days.
When I first (briefly) met Senator Kamala Harris, it was in the summer of 2018. She had come to town to support Tammy Baldwinβs re-election campaign for the US Senate.
I found the old picture with the IG caption on it to show you⦠I knew at that moment that this woman could be the President someday. In addition to her knowledge and experience⦠there was something special about her blend of self assuredness and her genuine warmth and joy.
Anyway, Iβm sure that you have 101 sources reminding you to vote on or before November 5th, but I will add my voice to the chorus.
If you or someone you know is unsure of the mechanics of how to vote, or are trying to decide who to vote forβ¦ Iβm here for you. Without judgement. Iβm happy to answer questions you might have.

Finally, since bread orders are still happening on this last day of October, this will be the last weekend that weβre donating our profits to BeLoved Asheville as they continue to work to rebuild from the storm. With your help. Iβm eager to make a good donation to them. Next week weβll be selecting a new nonprofit to donate to for November.
Iβll see you all on the other side.
Cheers,
Mo
your friendly baker
My wife is undergoing minor surgery the day after the election. I told her that if things go wrong on Tuesday, she should ask the anesthesiologist to keep her under for four years. I'd miss her terribly, but I'd understand. :)
Truly, and not meaning to be hyperbolic, but another Trump term would be catastrophic. . .and VP Harris would be an exceptional president.
