no bread in -40 degree weather

Good morning bread friends,

A quick note today to say that I’ve made the decision that your physical safety is more important to me than your sourdough consumption :)

I don’t believe we’ve ever had to cancel a bread day because of the weather before, but as I look ahead to the weather on Saturday… I can’t imagine asking you all to come pickup bread in such unreasonably frigid weather.

One little tip for keeping your house warm the next couple of days: Turn your heat up a little extra this afternoon before the extreme cold begins tomorrow night. From personal experience… I can attest that the furnace may otherwise struggle to keep up with the demand once its fighting -40 degree temperatures outside.

Which reminds me to be praying that our emergency shelter system in Madison flexes to support those without housing to find warmth indoors through the weekend.
