just bread + donation update for January
Good morning bread friends.
Today is a shorter email. Just a quick reminder for folks to order bread for this Saturdayβs pickup, and an update on giving from last month.
As you may know, Bread & Justice is a philanthropic enterprise. Each month, we donate 100% of our profits to an organization working to make the world more just.
For the month of January we partnered with Briarpatch Youth Services here in Madison. I first got familiar with Briarpatch when I was on the City Council. Because I was on the finance committee and the city consistently gave them resources I familiarized myself with the important work that they do to help young people who are seeking meaningful work, or providing resources support unhoused youth, or providing mentorship to help young people who are faced with navigating the criminal justice system.
Brairpatch is an important entity in our community, and by my estimation our community is both safer and more loving as a result of the work that they do.
Thanks to your support, and all the bread you bought in January Bread & Justice was able to donate $86 this month. If you feel so moved to donate to them also, Iβd love to hear about it :)
