Hi Bread Friends!
Todayβs email has two updates.
1st - On Tuesdays, I am usually writing this newsletter early in the morning while baking my Tuesday bread for Bread Club members. Today, Iβm writing from the kitchen table of my in-lawsβ house in the suburbs of Chicago. Iβve already told Bread Club members this directly, but this is a reminder to members that Bread Club pick-up will be on Thursday this week. Iβm also still taking regular weekly pre-orders today for Thursday pick-up. (Starting now. Click here)
It has been a while since I did an extra large bake on one day. Iβm excited to come home later today and start prepping to make a double batch just before Christmas. I know some people will be headed out of town for the holidays, so I want to accommodate any plans that people have to travel with their bread. Iβll be baking early in the morning on Thursday, so if youβd like to pick-up your bread early on Thursday morning youβre welcome to. Iβll start setting out the bread by about 9am. Your receipt will say the normal 2pm - 7pm pick-up times, but just let me know if youβd like to come early on Thursday.
2nd - We have more fundraising to celebrate! For the month of November, Bread & Justice donated 100% of our profits to Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance, which totaled $520. Thanks to the generous matching contributions of Britt & Adam Ryan, as well as Gracie & AndrewΒ Foxwell, this community contributed a total of $1,560 to Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance. The amazing generosity of this community is providing funding for advocacy, education, and networking of grassroots practitioners, communities, and tribal governments as they work together to revitalize their indigenous food systems.
Iβve also heard from a couple of readers already that they have been inspired to donate to The Rainbow Project this month. I love continuously learning about the giving spirit that this community has. If you donβt mind, please do fill me in about donations that you make to our monthly partners. This is really helpful as I try to keep a tally on the collective impact that this community is making.
Alright friends. See you soon.
Merry Christmas,
Mo
P.S. For anyone who read the first sentences about me being in Chicago and thought, βI wonder if he got any Chicago pizza while he was there?β β¦ the answer is yes ππ
